Purification is perhaps the most important activity of Buddhism, once understood and followed properly. This is not what is meant in our ordinary language as the removal of sin or the ending of bad behaviors. It is about gaining the "knowledges" to which the Buddha referred in his very first discourse, Dhammacakkappavattanasutta, the turning of the Wheel of the Law.
In this first teaching the Buddha outlined the Middle Way, and The Four Noble Truths. These are fundamental concepts which when paired with the "three frames of reference" constitute the preliminary framework for all the teachings of Buddhism that came later during the 45 year career of the Buddha. This website is intended to help the visitor follow the path to Purification.
